The Great Driver and Audemars Piguet
I admit that I know little about racing sport. But I know Michael Schumacher well because of his amazing achievements as the world’s best ever racing driver. When I heard that he was a times F1 World Champion, I totally admired him. In 2010, he returned back to the competition field and challenged to be the champion of the 18th F1 World Champion. We are eager to witness the exciting moment.
Audemars Piguet announced that the king of German Racing Sport, Michael Schumacher, would be the brand ambassador of AP. What a perfect cooperation it is! On November 27th, 2010, Philippe Merk, the CEO, revealed the news with Schumacher in the Meilenwerk Automotive Museum.
Schumacher says that two minutes means forever for a racing sport man because we are used to fighting for 1/10 seconds while all the drivers have the confidence to abolish times. He also commits that he is deeply interested in watchmaking and knows much about watches. He often puts the watch and racing together just because both of them own materials of hi-tech, top developments of technology and perfect mechanical appearance. The group of Le Brassus and Le Locle applies precisions and amazing designs to watchmaking with the traditional skills. They make wonderful watches in the world.
AP invests much in the racing sports such as National Classic Tour in Belgium, Gstaad Classic in Swiss and Tour Auto in France. Rubens Barrichello, Jarno Trulli and Sebastien Buemi were also ambassadors of AP. The reason why they choose the famous drivers as the ambassadors is that their traditional, perfect and creative spirits are same with AP. Schumacher is not only a great driver but also a man with wide breast and discreetness and he is always doing something effective to help more and more people.
