Few watches are able to maintain the simple design and be modern at the same time. Most watches are either the combination of simple and plain or the group of modern and complex in nature. For this reason, the watch brand Pierre Thomas has enough justice to proudly present the Montre HIstoique Toubillon watch, a simple yet modern timepiece.
Performed in a clear black color, the dial is simply elegant. The hour indexes are designed in strips, while the minute indexes are in dots. All are shining brightly in eye-catching gold color, making an obvious contrast to the dial. The hour and minute hands are crafted from white gold too, in a modern leaf shape. Under the twelve o’clock index, one could find the brand’s name, Pierre Thomas. Enclosing the dial is the 18k pink or grey gold case, performed in a convex cylindrical shape. It is a large case with 49mm diameter and 12.7 thickness.
To better equip this tourbillon watch with a modern look is the movement aperture between 7 and 9 o’clock. It is a Swiss-made mechanical PT 2010 movement. First developed in 1870, the movement has been upgraded many times and in this version, it features an impressive aerial tourbillon XXL technical upgrade. All are showed exquisitely in the window between 7 o’clock and 9 o’clock.
Finishing its modern look is the graded hand-stitched alligator leather strap which is in a relatively large size to better go with the big case.

At the SIHH 2010, a Rotonde de Cartier Astrotourbillon watch is unveiled by Cartier. This watch is called the Rotonde de Cartier Astrotourbillon Calibre 9451 MC as it features the Calibre 9451 movement which Cartier had spent 5 years perfecting.
The piece was made available in two versions, the pink gold and white gold version. Both versions are classic and elegant. By simply looking at it, you could feel its masculinity that Cartier tries to convey in this masterpiece.
As a Tourbillon watch, this Calibre 9451 MC has its Tourbillon carriage located to the centre of the movement, providing a distinctive rotational axis in which a re-designed gear train is demanded. It is positioned above the movement on the dial with a arrow-shaped balance bridge serving as the second hand. This design is an innovation in that many tourbillon watches often had the tourbillon carriage hidden in the back. Cartier just brought the essential to the front and greatly satisfies those watch lovers who are fascinated by Tourbillons. Yes, the mesmerizing feature of a tourbillon – the tourbillon carriage should not be hidden and should be showed and appreciated and loved.
With the watch case made of titanium, this masculine watch is measured in watch 47 mm. The sapphire crystal face and back case protect it from strong shocks and the timepiece is water resistant to 30 meters. Driven by a manually winding Astrontourbillon movement, the watch could reserve power to 48 hours. The black alligator leather strap completes its masculine characteristic.
With a limited edition of 100 pieces, the Calibre de Cartier Astrotourbillon is admired by many watch lovers.
